The dust has settled..........

After reading my last post you may have gleaned that things got a leetle bit CRAZY!! with last Sunday's Update. Crazy would be an understatement really!! But it was crazy good if you know what I mean :-)
In an effort to be more efficient (I am a Virgo after all - efficiency is our middle name!!) I wanted to load Sunday night's update to the website ahead of time...but keep it in a 'holding area', so that come Sunday night...all I had to do was shift the update out of the 'holding area' and out to where it could be seen.
But first I had to ask the Tech people how I should go about doing this. The instructions were long and involved...so much so that I had to print them out and keep them close by while I loaded up everything. Apparently no one had ever wanted to do such a thing before...so possibly this is where things started to go awry!!
Soo.......I got everything loaded and very soon realised that my 'holding area' was very visible indeed....so back to the drawing board....tweak a few more things and I thought I was all done. I would simply return later and open the door on the 'holding area' and move the update to it's proper home on the website.........NOPE!! LOL
Long story short, some of my very gorgeous EGMTK! friends found their way to the supposedly 'hidden' update and started shopping.....and one hand dyed top did indeed get sold twice..it was CHAOS!! But good chaos.......once I got over my initial shock!!
You should all be very proud of yourselves, because the Tech people have never seen anything like it - you all managed to make the website software do things it had never done before!! That's funny!! Again, THANK YOU!! You all rock in the grooviest way possible. Seriously.
Last week was an incredibly difficult week here (my sisters FIL passed away and 2 close friends received not so good news about their health) BUT the craziness of Sunday night made me laugh again :-) xoxo

Guess what? I'm an Ashford Dealer! WOOT! My Big Black Folder of Ashford-ness arrived a week or so ago.....it's been my bedtime reading material ever since. So much to look at...and pore over...and study.
As you can see, there's lots of touchy feely Sample cards to drool over.

Here you can see that I'm being assisted by T - he was so proud to be able to help Mama!
I have access to the full range of Ashford products - Spinning Wheels, Drum Carders, Weaving Looms, Fibres and Yarns! If they stock it I can get it :-)
The best thing? Ashfords will drop ship if need be! So if it's something big like a wheel that you're after they will ship it right to YOUR door, instead of shipping it to me and then me shipping it onto you.
So please let me know if you need anything Ashford - there are spesh prices for friends of EGMTK!
If you'd like to see the full range of Ashford products, you can visit their website here!
Did you know that Australia Post have had another price rise? Ugh. Quite frankly, us Fibre Folk should get a special dispensation and not have to pay for shipping. Somehow though, I don't think Australia Post would agree :-(
A 250 gram parcel will now be $4 to post Australia wide, a 500 gram parcel will be $5.20. Over those weights the cost will depend on your location and yep, those prices have risen as well.
As always, I will only ever charge actual postage costs and will always make sure to get your parcel to you in the most cost efficient way possible!!
I'll be back after the little folk are asleep to tell you about a very special event that I want to make happen next year.
Picture this.....a gathering of like-minded souls....uninterrupted spinning and fibre play...boundaries explored and broken......and a very, very special, revolutionary Spinner to take us on a journey.
It can happen. I will need your help.

Thanks very much for the giggle over what happened the other night.
It all worked out in the end and am glad the Tech people are now on their toes- knowing they have a customer who requires 'more' from them than the usual. ;)
A postal rise? :(
I sure wish we got a payrise as often as the postal rates go up!

Congrats on your being an Oh-fishul
Ashford dealer! :)
I will have to peruse the goodies on the website soon- thanks for the link, too. ;)

Most intriguing- the way you ended the post.... I am sure if anyone in this country needed help for a special event to happen- YOU will be the one to have the folks with you to make it happen! :)
Looking forward to hearing more...

People were RAVENOUS on Sunday. It was scary how quickly things were snapped up.

Out of curiosity, which was the top that sold twice?

Sharon, it was pretty funny wasn't it? Funnier still was Georgia running out of the room to get her father telling him to come quick because Mum was 'making funny noises at the computer'!!
In true Johnny style he told me to relax and enjoy the ride!! LOL

Quaffy, it was the Optim Top "Amplified" that sold twice. It's going to live with the person who's order arrived first. Sharon was the second customer to have it in her cart....I will be re-creating 'Amplified' for her at a later date :-)
